What is Yuei?

I chose the name YUEI, inspired by the manga "My Hero Academia". It is the reversed spelling of Ei-Yu — a Japanese term meaning "hero". The name reminds us that everyone has the potential to become a hero of the modern world — not through superpowers, but through determination, responsibility, and the actions we take every day.

At YUEI, I see Kendo as a journey of cultivating both mind and body, where technique is combined with thought, discipline, and a sense of community. Our goal is to help students develop their individual abilities, cultivate a positive attitude toward life, and become people who can contribute to society.

YUEI strives to create an environment built on mutual respect and human connection — a place where ambitious young people, those who feel different, or anyone looking for a space to grow are welcomed, encouraged to challenge themselves, and supported along the way.

And ultimately, practicing and enjoying Kendo may very well become a lifelong journey for each of us. Along that journey, we hope YUEI will be a part of your path.
